I was there for the start of the River Run. I can say that the FPDW
machines were running at River Palms on Wednesday. I have not received
a May mailer from them. Usually receive those weekly $7 coupons. Last
month there was a email for 2 nights in April and tickets to Extreme
Bulls. I do not have much of a history at River Palms, and most likely
never will. I did play the FPDW machines on Wednesday when I cashed in
my $7 coupon. Left that and more before leaving. It was interesting
that the "kiosk" were down. It brought everything to a grinding halt.
The "boothlings" said there was nothing they could do to help you get
kiosk promotions already earned. I did not need anything, but a lot of
people were upset. It was near dinner and I think some of them wanted
the 2 for 1 butffet promotion , or the $.99 Chicken sandwich they had
worked so hard for.

I left Laughlin just before sunrise on Thurdsay morning of the River
Run. This is after the start, but nothing like the weekend. There was
some good free music even on Wednesday night! There were a lot of
venders in from River Palms to the Riverside. Much of it weemed to be a
duplication.

I did stay around long enough to collect some souvenier T-shirts from
the Belle and the Aquarius. I had fun with my tee shirts when I got
home . There was a limit of 4 at the Belle and I showed them to my wife
and said they were my $100 t-shirts. That did not go over too big!
However, they were each worth $100. I thought my description was
accurate and only misinterpreted. I made exactly $400 playing for the
points needed. The 2 long sleeve black t-shirts from Aquarius were
basically free after their require play.

I was there when they announce the selling of the Aquarius. The
bartender said the news report announce it as a billion doller profit.
I guest we can understand why they sold. I believe the new owners are
mostly an investment firm with limited amount of casino experience. You
might know more than I about this. I have quit trying to anticipate
these changes, nor worry about new owners. I just get ready for change.

Again, nothing will be talked about with the Belle/Edgewate until Jun
1st. I did see some dirt has been moved between the Regncy and
Aquarius.

As you said, The Roundup shows 2x points and reel cash every day in May.
Also, Card of the Day is set for every Monday through Thursday (except
for Memorial Day). I used my first Pioneer rooms (for guests). I
will not every be staying at the Pioneer in the future. Maybe that room
was not typical! However, I give a very high mark to their Granny's
Sunday Brunch and will do that again.

So you used the Gertaway Nights for the first time? Where did they stick
you...out back with the barking dog rooms? So the room wasn't acceptable?

You do get what you pay for at the Pioneer, which is only $1k/month in action
for two comped nights. Never been turned-down on short notice. Phone
booking takes about 30 seconds. Park my car right outside the door. Good in-room
coffee. Decent shower. Great location. Can drown out noise with the stand
alone AC unit.

I usually get to check-in before noon. You just need to get your ice before
breakfast.

Curious to hear your first time thoughts about the Pioneer.
