May Slot revenue numbers MS and FW

"...Mohegan Sun reported that its slots "win" — the amount it kept from wagers after paying out prizes — declined eight-tenths of a percent, while Foxwoods Resort Casino's win declined 4.4 percent. It was each casino's best year-over-year performance of 2013..."

The try to put the numbers in the best light they can.

Best light is right. Twin River table games open Wednesday and Mass. will be up by the end of next year. Let's see them spin THOSE numbers.

I saw that Twin River ad.
Don't think MA will even have deals signed by end of next year. Where you seeing that?
It always amazes me how RI figures out how to screw the Narragansett Tribe (and they just end up screwing themselves).

Could have had a megaresort back in mid-2000's partnering up with local boy Sheldon Adelson of Venetian fame.

Actually it's CT taxpayers who got screwed.
With the 2 biggest casinos in the hemisphere, the NYC market and the only table games between Atlantic City and the North Pole neither casino returns anywhere close to the 280 million a year Twin River (which no one south of New London has ever even heard of) gives the state from slots alone. Now Twin river will be giving the state an 18% take on table games while CT gets a big fat "zippo" from table games.

Just amazing! 10% of RI State revenue is from TR and Newport and half of gamblers are from Massachusetts.

RI must be completely freaking out about MA resort style casinos opening in a couple years. The VLT parlor(s) will be opening next year. If Plainfield is selected it's dead nuts on the way to TR.

The proposed deal with the Wampanoag tribe casino in Taunton was the state gets 17% of ALL gaming revenue. Feds said that was too much and nixed the deal.

So, Massachusetts Gaming Commission opened the bidding for a S.E. MA joint to competition. That could result in 2 resort style casinos in the area. With the Wampanoag joint sending the state ZERO % of take.
Both joints will be half way from Metro Boston to Twin Rivers.

Rhode Island will now never see a resort style casino. It will continue to be good times for Twin Rivers for a couple of years.
After that, few from MA will be going to da joint.

Hopefully, some of MA VP will be good enough to put on the VPFREE2 database. That may lure this Boston boy and his wife away from our monthly trips to Vegas - But I'm not counting on it.

As far as table games, we are strictly VP gamblers (with some slots to try to stay under the radar). But do know CT gets 25% of the slot hold which is ~3x higher than AC/Nevada.

Probably 75% of FW/MS gaming revenue is slots (based on AC numbers). Don't think the state of CT has anything to complain about. Plenty to complain about when MA casinos open their doors.
