Right. The game I played for a few hands was Double Bonus
with a base paytable of 9/6/4 and a max out paytable of
18/7/4. That's worse than the lowest paytable for DB in
Dancer's article, so the overall return is somewhere below
98.2%.

accept coins until the first line is filled with five
coins, and only then assign a bet to the upper lines.
It is correct that when playing Max Out Poker with less
than eight coins, the base hand is filled-up first before
any coins go to the Max Out hands. I observed someone
playing today with just two coins per play.
