I was reading on a video poker wbsite (vegasmadeeasy.com) that if you play 9/6 JOB strategy on 10/7 DB game you will only give up .1% return. Does that mean that your return would be 100.07% instead of 100.17% return? That is still much better than the 99.54% return on 9/6 JOB. The reason I'm asking is that I am having trouble with memorizing the perfect strategy for 10/7 DB but I'm pretty close to perfect on 9/6 JOB. So if I play 10/7 DB using 9/6 JOB strategy I'm better off than just playing 9/6 JOB. Am I missing something? I have a feeling I am. Thanks for any comments.

Robert,

I looked at the site that you referenced. Is states:

"Jacks or Better (JOB) strategy can be used for 8/5 DB or Double Bonus with
a loss of a tenth of a percent (.001) from not using optimum strategy
specifically for DB."

Using 9/6 JB strategy on 10/7 DB you reduce the EV by .54%

Using 9/6 JB strategy on 8/5 JB you reduce the EV by .01%

Using 9/6 JB strategy on 8/5 DB you reduce the EV by .19%

I don't know what else he could have meant.

That is correct. You would be increasing your JOB return rate by .09%
playing 10-7 DB with the JOB strategy. However, keep in mind that the DB
game has about a 50% higher variance than JOB. Your financial results, both
peaks and valleys, will be much steeper.
