Marnell madness...CB & EW

Well, it is a shock walking into the Colorado Belle. It appears to be 100%
TITO. The slot club got moved over by the main cage and in its place sits a
monster Wheel of Fortune. All the old Sigmas, Bally Gamemakers and IGT clunkers
are gone.

Alot of the new inventory is state-of-the-art flat screens with only one game
turned-on for multi-denominations. The older Game Kings all got adjusted in
the paytables too. Nothing to play anymore at the CB. The best I found June
28th was 9/5 Jacks or Bogus Bonus 8/5/150 where all the quads pay 150 (98.48%).

Now for the bad news...the bartops are even worse than the floor. We used to
have 9/6 Jacks and NSUD to play in the Boiler Room in quarters, halves and
$1. Here is the Boiler Room line-up:

In quarters, $1 and $5 we have-

Bonus 6/5
Jacks 7/5
DB 9/6/5
DDB 9/5
Deuces 20/12/9/4/4 (97.06%)
TP+ 7/5
Bonus Deuces 10/4/3/3/1/1 (97.36%)

All the other bars' Game Kings got the same treatement.

Wander over to the Edgewater and the twelve old Multi-Pokers and the other
clunkers are gone. In its place are the various Wheels of Fortunes on the wall,
Aristocrats, Konami, Ballys and IGT slots.

The VP all took the same beating. The best plays I found were in some skinny
Game Kings by the Sportsbook. In quarters, .50 and $1 were 12/8 Loose Deuces
and Illini/Airport 15/9/4/4 Deuces.

So at this time you need to adjust your play. I will have some comments
about the slot club shortly.

I'm curious -- As of June 15th the 15/8 loose deuces slant tops at
the Edgewater had been moved to the vicinity of the Oasis bar and the
paytables, which I was able to access at that time, had not been
changed although the machines were not ready for play -- are you now
saying that these have been downgraded to 12/8?

Boy the news about the poor paybacks of the bartops is really disheartening. CB and EW
used to be really good places to play VP.

I'm gonna have to give some serious thought about frequenting Laughlin in this light,
coming from Portland. I just finished a trip to Reno this week, and found much 9/6 JOB to
choose from, plus many many places dealing single deck blackjack with $3/2 instead of
the skimpy $6/5 some of the places in Laughlin are offering. Two or three places will even
still allow you to double down on the first two cards on single deck.

I really enjoy Laughlin and the river, but the news about the bartops is enough to cause
me to rethink the visits when Reno is so much closer anyway. Sad. Guess they had to find
some way to pay for the updates.

Nothing to play anymore at the CB.

Thanks for the kick to the groin.....yes it hurt. Didn't they used to
kill the messenger years ago for bad news? Not that it matters too
much, but did they do away with the bartop progressives? What about the
bartops at the Mississippi Lounge? It sounds like the new slot club
needs some further clarification after July 1 st.

Did you hear any feedback from the staff and the current customers? I
am just afraid that most of the customers are just interested in what
is going on. Give them an upgrade from a 50 watt bulb to a 75 watt
bulb and a little glitter, and they think things are wonderful. ???

Well, we used to give both of them a tremendous amount of play in
the 41 denom and now that is the end. They will find out soon that
the ones that really played heavy are the ones that won't be around.
