Mark Trip Report Silver Legacy 6/1-to-6/5

So, my content this time is primarily cut pastes of the daily trip
reports I sent to friends from the Silver Legacy Lobby once a day. They
seemed to cut to the chase and convey my excitement level, so I kept
them and augmented some stats and anecdotes. This first bit I sent out
the day before the trip and carried a pocket sized version on me as a
reference and reminder. This is more detail than I usually provide.
YMMV. ============================= Pre-Play Gaming Plan: I have
four separate play "ladders", I will risk up to $1500 on any one ladder.
I have a win goal of $300 on a ladder. If I hit that I start over on any
of the 4 ladder plans. This gives me the flexibility to switch game
types, like I like to. (1) "BONUS" ACE$BP:
$100/$200/$400/$400/$400 on 25c/50c/$1/$2/$4 denom on the single line
machines on the mezz. $2 = 10-coin $1 denom and $4 = 20-coin $1
denom (2) "WILDs" JW - $300 on 25c (Keno) DW - $200 on 25c
(Alcove) DDB - $200 on 25c (prog slants) DDB - $400 on $1
(prog) ACE$BP - $400 on $2 (mezz) (3) "MULTIs" DDB (or
JoB) on the mezz: $100/$200/$400/$400 on 25c/50c/$1/$2 3-play,
then $400 on $1 5-play. This plan seems to be the highest risk.
Sticking to $1500 per Plan gives me only a minimum 120 bum deals on this
total Plan -worst case. On a real bad run, this Plan could be over in a
real short time I figure. Scary. I will probably wait to succeed
on other Plans and bank some reserve funds before I attack this one.
(4) "Olde Main Floor Tour" $300 - 25c BP progs $100 ea on 3 banks
$400 - 25c DDB progs $100 ea on 4 banks $400 - $1 DDB progs $100
ea on 4 TITO machines $400 - $1 DDB progs $100 ea on 4
coin-droppers I may play one, two, three or all four Plans, gives me
options. It's an innovation for me, a lot less structured than my
previous plans. ============================================ Flight was
2 hrs late departing. Rare for Southwest Airlines, but when it happens,
it's often the last flight out. Limo guy is waiting. Corner suite
again, 32nd floor. perfect. Kinda slow here, which is great. Day 1:
5.5 hrs of VP, minus 100. I am sticking to my plan. 25c and 50c denom so
far. Jackpots of 200, 125 and four @ 100. -------------------------- Day
2: I'm on ACE$Bonus poker. Lost $100 at 25c denom, down $200 at 50c,
down $400 at $1 coin, onto $2 coin. Dealt 4 to the royal and BOINK up
pops the 5th one on the draw. A cool $8000 in benjamins in my pocket.
Tax form. Boggled on the implications. Good enough highlight?
Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaa. It's my 2nd highest RF jackpot ever. Oh, $40 tip.
Back to 25c. Fun to be able to coast. Later, playing $1 DDB tripleplay,
I hit quad As WITH a kicker on one line, which gave me a tax form and
$2000 !!! TWICE !!! This last one took them 40 minutes to show
up (about 5AM). Have complained to a manager. The first one came before
midnite, so the casino had to fill out a CTR - Cash Transaction Record -
for any CASH transactions over $10,000 in a day. My first CTR. ,
Later, I ran the multi-plan all the way thru with only four quads for a
$1500 loss. I also had a 500 loss on $1 DDB with no quads. Total
profit @ +$8000 still. Played a lot tonite, after a 2 hr powernap. At
6AM I had a great ribeye steak eggs in the Sweetwater cafe before I
slept. --------------- Day 3 Gamin' at 12:45. First run was on the
multi's, got up to $2 DDB 3-play. 3 fullhouses worth 100 ea. two quads
at 500 ea. Then slid back to 50c x 3 and got a dealt quad Q for 125 x3
and stopped the session even. whew. Onto my Tour of the Olde machines.
-100 on two 25c Bonus banks. I couldn't do a $100 on each bank per plan.
The southwall coin-droppers are agonizing slow. Nearby new machines set
full warp play, oh, about 3 TIMES as fast per hand. then onto the right
side end 25c DDB prog machine near the mens room. Hit the Royal on my
first $40 in. Drew 1. Sweet. 25 minutes for the handpay. Had Food
Express chow mein to-go in my room tonite. What a view. dropped 500
on the multis and -500 on DDB $1 progs. Back to multis at the point in
my plan I had stopped: $1 DDB x3. Got dealt quad 2's, no kicker. held
them and drew 1 kicker for a 400+400+800 = $1600 handpay and my 4th tax
form of the trip. piddled away 800 more playing 25c and 50c 5-play. Too
fast! Up 300 on the day, still up over 8000 for the trip. That'll
surely help me take that time off w/out pay from work I'm plannin'. That
will drive me to play cautious for remaining two days. He says without
total confidence. THIS is FUN! ---------------- Day 4 can the beat go
on? You betcha. Tackled a DDBx3 multi again. Down 700, playin max play
$2 coin on 3 lines, I hit a bottom line quad A for $1600 + tax form. Up
700. dropped 800 on $1 DDB prog at 4402. No quads! I was pig-headed
about the dollar loss on this run. Not good. then play $1, $2 and $3
ACE$BP for -1500. Ugh! ($3 = 15 $1 creds. machine can go up to 50 if you
hit max play, which I never did. my plan read $4 denom last, but I
wasn't comfortable even at $15/hand) hit a quad 7 for $500 on $2 ("max
play") DDBx3, one line only, net session +200 lost that 200 on $1
ACE$BP and took a room break. 5 1/2 hrs and down 1500. pan roast dinner
at Fairchilds. Hit 3 different $200 hands playin 25c DDBx3 = +300 Then
spent 600 on $1 and $2 ACE$BP. Back to $1 on ACE$Bonus and I HIT a
Royal. Another Royal. Held 4. +$4000 and 6th tax form. Wheeeeeeee.
Taking photos of all my "good" hands, but running low on film. HA!!
10PM and 8 hrs of gaming- up $2000 on the day so far,… Up a bit
over $10,000 for the trip. Whew. I will be playing 50c denom a lot-
from now on. It's a "safe" and comfortable level for me to "coast" on,
but the main reason is to get a $2000 Royal, I'll achieve what I will
define as The Royal Cycle! (25c/50c/$1/$2 coin RFs all on one trip)
Late nite I piddled away my $2000 day 4 profit after my update e-mail,
in about 3 hrs. Ugh! No details, as it's painful and besides, I don't
have my index cards handy. Convenient. But it WAS all 50c denom.
Still even on day 4, and haven't touched the $8000 bankroll in my back
left buttoned pocket. Makes me sit catawampus. ------------- Monday,
5PM-ish report, Day 5 Day 5: Another good sleep, and out gamin about
11AM. A sociable nice older attendant whom I've befriended told me about
a game I hadn't seen- Super Dbl Dbl Bonus. I played it on the uprights
downstairs near the ladies room that used to have FPDW. Went for the 50c
denom, as I still wanna get that Royal Cycle. This SDDB game has more
bonus quads than regular Dbl Dbl - quad JQK with an AKQJ kicker pays
160-1. So, I hit quad Aces WITH a kicker for a 2000 cred ($1000) payoff.
Nice start for the last day. I felt like a spin on the $1 BP with
separate Suited Royal progs. Hit quad Aces on it for $400 and quit it
$200 up. Dropped 400 on $1 DDB - prog @ 4429. Dropped 300 back to 50c
SDDB. I give 50-play nickels a go - the ones near high limit. Select
JoB (9/6) play max 250 creds and I'm DEALT JJxJJ. Up $300, so I quit it
after one hand. The guy who was playing next to me is probably STILL
sputtering. Winding down on 50c ACE$Bonus on the mezzanine. Hit quad
Aces on it for a long even session. Up about $600 on the day, plan to
hang onto it, but will fish for that $2K Royal on the 50c. Saving one
photo for it. Yeeee haaaaaa. ---------------- Gee, I like Reno.
After my earlier Day 5 update, I had a bit over 2 hrs to finish up the
trip. I piddled away that $600 daily profit playing 3-play DDB for 50c
coin. I swear I never got a flush from a 4-flush hold. You know what
I'm talkin about? The longer it goes on, you tend to focus get ticked.
I refused to keep playin' it, not wanting to dip into the sacred $8K
profit bundle. So, I limped thru some short sessions, stopping at +100
or -100. The $8K profit was sacred and that IS what I ended up UP for
the trip. Even stopped my standard airport session at -50. Man this
stack of 100s is impressive. But, it's off to the credit union with it
first thing in the morning. Got a photo of the stack at it's largest in
the Suite. Lots of jackpot photos. Sorry - no scanner so won't be
sharing. Disposable camera that I carried in my SOCK! Flight back was
about 1/3 full, and 30 minutes early arrival !! I barely had time to
compile my stats. Back home, the next morning, my Credit Union deposit
story - over $10K cash so another CTR. So the teller is filling it out
- the person actually doesn't get a copy. After my social security #,
one line says "occupation". I think a second and tell her "Gambler."
Then I tell her my day job is actually Engineer, so she says,we better
put that one in. Almost. Allllll-most. -----------------------------
some quick anecdotes from the casino floor: Scamming younger guy coming
thru: stops by me on my machine to ask, "are you a baseball fan?" what
a line, I sent him packing, but I shoulda said, "no, but that security
guy over there is, you want me to get him over here for you?" Learned
that line here on vpFree. The usually staid but droll Silver Legacy
announcer had to add the cliche phrase "get 'er done" to his Larry the
cable guy 1/2 hourly overhead p.a. tape loop announcement of upcoming
shows. Made me giggle every time the way he said it. It wasn't in his
normal vocabulary, I could tell. Well dressed lady with a clip-board
looking for survey or sales pitch victims at the big pedestrian cross
aisle on the second floor: at the center escalator where you can turn up
to head to the Silver Legacy hotel front desk etc. Her come-on attempt
to snag passers-by: " Do you gamble?" Lame! Hissing cocktail
waitress: "CocktailssssssssssSS". Snaky. Enticing but deceptive sign
on the front of a multi-denomination slot machine: "Bet more - Win
more". Made me ponder too long on that one. Overheard: Little kid on
the mezzanine: "Where's daddy?" Mom's reply: "He's playing video games."
Sunday night the area just east of the north escalator, on the first
floor near the ladies room had all the machines pushed to one side and
yellow tape cordoned off the area. Only one bank of 25c DDB progs were
there, but those machines are now MG, so there might be more playable
games on them, I didn't check. I predict a carpet replacement and a
speedy return of the same or similar machine setups. Time for stats:

$352 ========================== How do I think my Pre- trip Plans worked
out? I didn't follow it religiously, I still allowed my urges for
runs on $1 DDB, for instance. It wasn't my Plan that made that one
drawn card fill the Royal three separate times in 50 hrs of VP. But I
had a confidence that my short plans would result in a profit before I
lost my limit. Those numbers were tailored to suit MY play and my
budget, so I'm NOT recommending them to anyone. Standar It took me
many many trips and iterations to tailor this Plan. I liked the
flexibility to switch games, which IS my tendency; an hour at the same
game for me is rare. The main thing new to me on this trip, was the
peace or confidence it gave me to know THE Stopping Point, money-wise,
for this particular game/machine/ladder. be it due to a Win : any win
that put me over +$300 I start over -OR- due to a Loss: I had a fixed
$1500 Loss limit. It was a calm in the midst of the chaos in a
casino. Thanks for reading. Easy one to write this time. ~MARK

Hi Mark,

Thanks once more for a fabulous TR about a GREAT winning trip!

There is as much "fun", excellent information, sound advice and
suspense, in your report, as can be found in some gambling books.

I felt as if I was with you every day, at every machine, enduring
the losing sessions and cheering at every BIG hand that you popped.

I was holding my breath until the final installment; Would Mark hold
on to to his early profit? HOORAY!! You did just that.

I wanted you to know that I read and enjoyed every word. I'm very
appreciative that you took the time to write your TR, and let us all
share, vicariously, in your VP enjoyment.

I also hope that you have many more trips to Reno, as rewarding as
thi$ one was$!

Cheers,
-Babe-
