Mark my words July trip conclusion

Day 7, continued:
my post was truncated for some reason, I left off at:

Over to $5
ACE$BP hitting nothing for down 500.

Eased down to $2
ACE$BP, more dry spell, down 500.

My swan song for the
day was $2 DDB with prog quads, nada, ugly, but it could have been worse.
down 500 more.

That’s DOWN 3500 for
the day.

I didn’t want to dip
into any of my 4 $5000 bindles, so

I’m still up $11,300
for the trip.

Peppermill comp
balance is over $1600. Tried hard to spend some in the gift shop today,
but one more $100 tommy bahamas shirt and a blouse for my girlfriend from comps seemed enough.

Day 8:

Checked out in VIP lounge (Bill: $0.00) and
checked bag at bell before 1PM today.

taxied over to
Silver and grabbed $225 cash from 250 freePlay.

taxi waited for me,
took me 7 minutes on $1 coin BP to load the freeplay, play it thru and cash it
out and get back in the taxi. tipped the guy about $20 and got a big THANKS!
from him.

played some pai gow,
even session.

Scored three $400
quads and one $500 quad.

but dropped $2000
total today.

I guess you CAN lose
money at video poker, I almost forgot.

It was very nice to
not be scrambling to recoup losses on my last day in town like I do on my
typical junket.

grabbed my limo at
6:50, only to find out my flight was delayed an hour.

used airport wifi to
catch up on e-mails.

TSA did not
confiscate my money.

I hit quad 4’s for
$400 at the airport gate, playing $1 coin “6/5” shortpay DDB.

.I only wish I won as many royals at you – ever.

I had heard that Peppermill does not like winners and may cut off offers even for machine players. I hope that does not happen to you.

When I used to pay at Peppermill regularly comps disappears over a year and were utilized on a LIFO basis so comps aged out relatively quickly.

Thanks for the detailed trip report

Great trip.
Would like to hear more on the food/pool.

Good to see another post from you Mark.

Nice royals too…with all those benji’s you should have hit the $5 machine in HL hard…pop a $20k royal…

Hey TIMSPEED -
NAH, my play plan has me go DOWN in denom after big wins.
I suppose it’s fortunate I didn’t stick to the plan completely, but you’ll note my evening run on my last full day - day 7- I played nine spins of one cred on the $100 machine, lost 300 and my nerve. Switched to $25 denom for another measly 300, palms still sweating and then I did do a run of $5 v-p and lost about $2000 when the machines gave me nada quad.
The smartest move would have been to go home up $14K - check out and catch the next flight home. I’m in it for the long haul.
I’ll be paying off my line of credit loan which got used too often on my last six losing trips.
Silly to be paying 8% on that.

The guy next to me that 7th day morning said it best to give me humility:
“Some people never get a Royal…”

Food: top notch per usual. I don’t always mention the food, but I know there’s plenty of foodies among tbhe trip report readers.
The salmon salad is a great deal at Oceano.
Any steak at Bimini is perfect and the service is superb.
Cafe Milano was my go-to place for all meals. That’s why I couldn’t spend my comps- the check was almost always $20 or less. As a solo diner- I got in the habit of sitting at the counter, I happen to enjoy watching the ballet of all the wait staff & cooks cranking out big plates full of large and wonderful looking dishes. I tipped $5+ every time - they all work hard.

Pool: looks inviting, I been going there more than twelve years, always bring my swimming trunks, but jumped in the pool just once. With the temps pushing 100, the pool was always fairly crowded. Too many kids running around for my taste. I would tend to hit the pool in the winter or off hours when it’s not crowded.

It’s always annoyed me when kids run thru the casino gaming areas, mostly if they’re not chaperoned by their parents. I may sound like a crusty old fart, but I got two sons, in their 20’s now, but I knew the rules and kept them out of the casino until they were legal. They did learn the important stuff young: like how to order room service

On the pool you’re missing out on a treat. The heated waterfall pool is my favorite pool on Earth.
BUT-I always go on weekdays in the fall. Both the heat and even more the kiddies would be deal breakers for me also.
I also share your love of the Cafe. The room service breakfast, I think it’s called Peppermill Breakfast is just a great way to start any day.

will use my swimming trunks next visit this fall on your recommendation.

I think I had the pepps breakfast 1/2 the times I ate at the counter.
I love ordering the croissant when the waitress doesn’t know how to pronounce it.

I enjoy watchin them prep the room service orders - never seen them spill a tray.
it’s a ballet of food.
