Guess I jumped on it just in time. In the depths of cabin fever that comes
about this time of year to residents of the great white north, last weekend
we made reservations for EW in February, the final month of the promotion.
Anyone have any information/opinions on EW rooms? If the news is really bad
we'll just book Harrah's.

Chandler,

Welcome to the study group. What is your expertise?

It appears that the EW is just not giving away $150 per day anymore on $15k
play. But there were hidden costs. EW flushed away your action to claim this
prize. Your 1% cashback got you nothing...no points for comps or regular cb.

I don't know anything about the $25 bucks for 40 points/staying with us
offer. All I know is my comp account was drained last January when I stayed at EW
on a birthday postcard offer (no fine print). I don't trust the Mandalay
Resort Group properties anymore, other joints on the river are straightforward.

Well, I have a BA in BS and a blackbelt in luck;-) I'm just a
tourist looking for an angle... and a few days without having to see
snow.

Now this little wrinkle I was not aware of. Discounting the comps it
reduces my ER by .25. Thanks for the information. I can see how you
might be miffed. This was not mentioned in the mailer.

They took comp dollars from your account without notice? If so,
that's pretty sleazy. I don't think I've ever heard of any casino
doing this before.

It is difficult to figure out how and when they pull your comps for
offers. On my last 3 stays at the EW, nothing was pulled out. I only
had it happen to me once, and that was on a super bowl offer. Not
only did they clean out the account, but I had a negative figure for
comps for almost a year. I recently received an offer for Valentines
Day at the Colorado Belle (MB property also), and in the finest print
possible, they said comp dollars would be used for this offer. I was
going to recommend that you call and ask, but I would be willing to
bet that the person you talk to will not have a clue about what you
are asking. I suspect that comp dollars will not be used for this
offer, as they are asking you to give them action to earn the rooms
and cash.
