When Mandalay was the Mandalay Corp., before it merged into
MGM, I took out one of their credit cards. At the time I wondered
why they would even offer a credit card, being that MGM had
inaugurated their card just prior to that. But anyway I enrolled
with Mandalay and got comp. dollars in my One Club account
with my purchases.
Saturday I got a letter from the issuer, First National Bank of
Omaha, saying that they no longer maintain a relationship with
Mandalay, and all of the One Club Dollars that have accumulated
through the end of my June billing cycle will be available for
redemption until December 31, 2006 at any One Club resort or
casino.
Well that raises some questions. Does that mean that those
dollars accumulated from the credit card WILL have to be used
by December 31, or perhaps will ALL One Club dollars have to
be used by December 31st because of the merger? I'm heading
to Reno on Thursday so I hope to find out what's going on. At
any rate, I only took out the card to get the Mandalay comps, so
now I guess I'll cancel the card and transact business using my
MGM card?
