Mandalay Bay

Hey everyone,

Going to Mandalay in a few weeks and was wondering if there are any VP
machines worth playing there. Anyone have any luck there lately?

VP there is terrible. I think its even 5/7job.

Not that it is anything to get too excited about, but there a few
stray multigame machines that still have quarter 9/5 DDB. Before
anyone throws a hissy fit, yes, 9/5 DDB has almost a 3% house edge.
But by current mega-resort standards, it's about all one can expect
from these places.

Thanks for the input...I guess I'll have to go elsewhere for my VP fix!

It's been a couple of years since I was last year, but at that time
the machines were 3 or 4 9/6 DDB banks with a fast 4-way connected
prog. (RF,SF,Aces,2-4). The meters were sufficiently fast that these
became interesting from time to time.

The database here still reports these in place. I take it these were
downgraded since. In fact, are these machines still metered (not that
it would matter at 9/5)?

Were the machines still at 9/6, there aren't compelling reasons to
play there. Modest play of less than $10K won't generate any future
mailers, although I was able to garner a "pity comp" for the coffee
shop for $40 (2 buffets were alternatively offered up).

I'd recommend hauling butt down to Caesars to get rated for a future
stay. Beautiful property and $.25+ Jacks and NSUD, plus good
multiplays at these denominations. There are other good strip options
as well. Check out the database here:

That said, on a good midweek promo, MB is a very nice stay. Very nice
room, especially if you opt for the midweek upgrade that at about
$25-$40/night will bump you to a beautiful suite on an "if available'
basis (occasionally a double upgrade if you're especially gracious at
the desk) and give you roaming access to the private member HOB
Foundation Room. (Full year 7 day access runs something like a
grand.) Not much going on there weekdays, but it's still pretty cool
to check out and a great place to sit over a drink - as I said, it's
been awhile). Wonderful view of the strip from a top floor balcony.

The DataBase shows 25c 9/6 DB (not DDB) progressives:

Stayed at M. Bay last month and nothing worth playing for long term sessions. Luxor next door has tons of 8/5 Bonus Poker at .25 cent level. May be your best bet if you want something within walking distance.
