Majestic - various tidbits

I had an informative chat with Michael Breakey of Majestic recently.
Apparently they are hard at work preparing "Don & Mike's" for the
grand opening. Although he couldn't give me an exact date it should be
very soon (I would advise anyone interested to check whenever they're
at MS). All the machines in the bar area will be vp. As some of you
already know, brand new low denomination Multi-Strikes are part of the
mix. Also included is the re-introduction of progressive vp. I asked
about the machines sitting idle until the opening. Apparently
paperwork needs to be filed with the gaming commission in advance of
any machine move, whether that be new deployment or relocation. That
along with a lack of space made my suggestion of temporarily locating
the machines outside the bar unfeasible.

Some of you may have noticed the various promotions announced on a
glossy included with the monthly coupons. The one that caught my eye
was double points Tuesdays. On the surface this looks like a great
promotion other than the fact that $1 play is required which shouldn't
be a problem with the appropriate bankroll. I was discussing this with
another MS vp regular who pointed out that this promotion probably
affects only on-the-spot-cashback and not the monthly coupons. Michael
confirmed that this is indeed the case. Unfortunately for high volume
$.25 players like myself without affecting the monthly cap the
promotion has very little to recommend it. As I'm already hitting the
monthly max with $.25 play (I'm there a lot :-)) it makes no sense to
incur the much higher risk for a .1% increase in cashback. Michael
agreed with my comments and went on to say that this was their first
pass at this promotion and pending its outcome it may be revised in
the future to include $.25 denomination. I thanked him for responding
to my inquiry and taking the time to provide this information.

I'm very favorably impressed as it looks like MS is quite serious
about being the premier casino for video poker in the midwest. Stay
tuned for new developments.
