Majestic Star

I have not been to Majestic Star for 2 years. For many years I had their high tier card. 2 years ago I asked a host how many points I had and I was told they could not give out that information. Since that day I have not been back.

No correspondence from the Star for over a year until yesterday.

Hotel stay, 2 buffets, and $240 promo cash- only to be downloaded into a promo cash capable machine.

The card said it is a new line-up. New look, new decor, new video poker room, new buffet, new menu at the steakhouse...

This offer is good until the end of March. Did everyone get this offer?

The main casino that I now am playing at is the Blue Chip in Michigan City, In. I live on the northwest side of Chicago and it takes about 90 min. They have a great hotel on the premises.

I did make diamond at Harrah's this year and am content to be at the very minimal diamond level. I don't see the advantage to play more at Horseshoe for me. I can get comped rooms anywhere there is a Harrah's.

They are building the Des Plaines Casino 10 minutes from where I live.
It is due to open next summer. I am hoping they have something playable for me.......

Carolm60656, You might live very close to me! I am also about 10 minutes
from the new casino site.

Aside from some fresh carpeting, and maybe that menu change at the steakhouse, I can't think of anything "new" about the Star. I do know that their VP options have certainly declined over the past 2 years. (There are some marginally playable games left --- see the VPFree2 data base).

I don't know anyone who recommends the hotel or the buffet, but maybe you can take a slight detour on your next trip to Indiana and collect that $240 (almost all the VP machines I've tried accept promo cash).

Hi, I am north of the new site (You are south.) but not that far. Near
Potter (Potter is two blocks west of Dee but not in your area.) and
Dempster. Slight confusion in that East River Road in your area drifts west
north of Higgins and becomes Dee road north of Devon near the casino site.

What does anyone know about the organization who is goint to run this casino.

My wish list:

Playable pay tables for video poker

Bar top video poker (for the husband)

Slant top machines for comfort

And for when losing at video poker-a break at blackjack that does
not pay 6/5

I talked to a host I know at a casino and heard that the general manager was
hired and that he has a history with the Harrahs organization. Guess that tells
me I'll still be driving to Indiana to play video poker!
