My wife and I went to MS for our third losing trip in a row (total
of five days over two months). We played mostly in Don and Mikes
this weekend because the progressive was nearing $4800. We failed
miserably. We played Bonus poker (attempting to make up some
previous losses. Lots of garbage hands and few quads. I had four in
about four hours of VP while my wife had only one (non-bonus. The
bar was sticky and the machine buttons are getting hard to press.
MS needs to do a little more clean up all the way around on the
machines. I understand the frequency tables but it sure seems we're
playing a lot of hands with large losses. The bar area is cold, but
the second floor area is warmer and offers a lot of machines. I
just have a hard time playing for $4000 when I can play for $4800.
I'm going to ask for a room comp for the 4th of July and we'll see
how the comps work. We both played over 1000 points each day so I
hope we can at least get a room. We stopped in at Trumps before we
left but it was busy, smoky, and the machines were lower pay tables.
Am I understanding everyone that while Trumps has lower pay tables
folks seem to be winning more? We like the comfort of MS, but maybe
we'll play a couple of hundred at Trumps next time and see if we get
less garbage or at least play a little longer on each bill. Good

I agree with your comments about the bar top machines. They are not
maintained very well and the area around the machines could be kept
cleaner. Lately I've witnessed some boorish behavior on the part of
people getting food from the Don & Mike's concession. Although there
are plenty of tables available these folks have to plop themselves
down at the bar even though they have no intention of playing anything
on the bar tops. After leaving an incredible mess for someone else to
clean up they leave. I nearly confronted several people but just
barely managed to restrain myself. Hopefully this is not becoming a
trend because I will not continue to be shy.

personally, i do much better at trump than at MJ. that goes for the games with the same pay schedules. the indiana gaming board has a website. there is nothing on their site as to the randonness of video poker . i have e-mailed then twice with a question on this subject and have received no response.

Why would you play BP? The game will only hover at about 100% when the royal reaches 6k. Wouldn't some of the other games have brought you close to or above 100% with a progressive at $4800?

If you do not believe Indiana vp to be random, and therefore subject to the analysis and strategy used by most here, why would you play?

The Indiana gaming board is alarmingly unresponsive. Nobody with
answers is ever available to answer the phone and despite repeated
emails and voice mails I've never received a response. Having dug
through their website I was never able to get a clear and complete
picture of exactly what their methodology is for ensuring honest
gaming devices. There are pages and pages of statutes, but what is the
process that ensures the statutes are followed?
