I know harrah's is very explicit about bonus points not counting
toward tier score, and when you log into your account you can find
out both numbers. I don't think MS has the same level of database
sophistication. In the example I cited I know that it was the
multiplied points that pushed this person over the top.
When I got my card I had to go through about 3 levels of
management...due to incompetence...they first told me I had only 5000
pts...I asked them what date that was as of they said May xx, well I
was talking to them in July...

I am very sure that the 2 'slot clubs' that I use (harrahs and
ameristar) absolutly keep 2 seperate counts. one is your base points
and it is used for the tier status. the other is bonus points which
are combined with base points to get comps and such. although if
you
go to 2 seperate people in the casino and ask on the same day how
many
base points you have this period/year you could very likely get 2
different answers, I dont understand why it is confusing to the
employees, but it seems that way. on a multi point day you could
qualify for a new tier level with your base points even if your
bonus

points didnt help (ie.. you need 200 more points and it is a triple
point day and you earned 900 points, which would be 300 base and 600
bonus points) hope this is of help
