Majestic Star Points Expiring?

I was at Majestic Star this morning and spoke with a man from the host
department. After reading the excerpt on coupons and points I wanted to make
sure I did not lose anything. He told me that they are still "business as
usual" and the bankruptcy has not affected any offers or player benefits. He
just said the points for earning card status was changed and that earning
process started last week. He checked the system and my points, comps and cash
back were all there. I could not get out of him what they base their coupon
decisions on, but I have run into that with most casino clubs. I did receive 12
coupons and several scratch off offers for next month. I can usually do $5K -
$10K CI in a trip, so I do not see myself losing the top tier card with 6 months
to obtain it. I do like the new players lounge. I was Star level at Ameristar
a year ago and it took me $240K of CI to earn that level to use the lounge, so
$100K does not sound that bad when compared to that!

Sadly, I agree with you that the EV is at best marginal unless progressives
are way up. Note: The middle tier still takes the same number of points but
is mostly useless. Single line 25c players now must play 80,000 hands every
six months for the Access card so that will not be easy. (I only had about
8,000 points for the last half of the year and I am unemployed so I played
about twice per week. I take the bus most of the time to the Majestic Star
and since I am about ten minutes by car north of the new Des Plaines IL
casino, driving to Michigan City is not in my plans. At this time of year,
golf is also not in my plan around here!

I still have my points even though my motivation for earning more has
definitely dropped due to the new level changes on the card. They upped the
totals to achieve each level and also took some bennies away at the 2nd
tier. I asked about the mailings last night while I was there (though I did
not get to play as the playable ones were all taken for the 2 hours I cared
to wait)and was told that essentially mailings have been suspended to all
until the ownership issues/Barden,s health and legal problems get sorted
out. Guess Blue chip is all thats left for a quarter player right now and
just barely. EV at majestic was very marginal BEFORE they stopped mailing
and changed the card thing.

Thank you. I was also there yesterday morning. Neither my mom nor I got any mail (Not even the calendar of events!) for January and have not received the February mailing either. I am playing twice a week but only 2k-3k per day. If I keep playing at that rate, I would make the 10k point requirement. I am also a little over $400 down for January.

I went to the majestic star last night. i had heard about them raising the top level card requirement. i'm a mid level player that really doesn't get there very often, maybe 10 to 15 times a year. I didn't know if i was even going to keep my mid level card and to my suprise I was upgraded to there top level card. I doubt I even earning 5000 points let alone 10000. i think they must look at other items other than total points earned. Anyone know?

Based on the letters my wife and I just received, I suspect the "starting point" for the 2011 levels are based on some kind of historical data --- perhaps 2010 play. Total points earned from now until 7/12 will apparently determine whether we stay at our current "access" level.
