Using Frugal VP to look up frequencies for 4 aces and four twos threes or fours in 9-6-5 DB (The kicker games do not get as much benifit from the side pots so actually 9-6-5 DB will be the game most likely to be playable even with a lower base EV.) Four Aces appears every 4462 hands without strategy adjustments. That is on average every $5583 played so add 1% ($14 adds 1/4%) for every $55 over $200 on the aces meter.
Four twos threes or fours occur every 1906 hands or $2382 played so every $24 over $100 on that meter adds 1% ($6 adds 1/4 %).
You probably know the RF adds 0.2% about every $97. As strategy adjustments occur, the rate of increase in EV becomes slightly faster but this is a good start and what I use. I have done the same type of analyses when seeing the 5 way $1 9-6 DDB at Resorts. By the way the base value for 9-6-5 DB is 97.81% not 98.14% 9-6-4 TDB has the highest base of the progressives at 98.12% but since more than 27% of the aces, twos, threes and fours will hit with the kicker, the meters are not worth as much. (Correct strategy also generates fewer royals as well.)
9-6-5 DB will be the better choice when the game is attackable.

You're welcome. And I have a question: I noticed that the bars on
Star I now have some progressive .25 games. The best base game on
these machines seems to be 9/6/5 DB (98.14%). Usually, you'd need the
Royal to be worth about $1960 to make it a positive game, but there's
also progressives on 4 Aces and quad 2-3-4. Without running and re-
running Winpoker or a similar program over and over, is there any
quick way to figure out when this game is a good play?

4
more nickel machines. A couple of these have 8/5 Aces and Faces.

scan six of them. I found only one 99%+ game. The leftmost of the
two
machines nearest the elevator has 9-7 Dbl Aces & Faces.
