Apparently the bar was opened for business several days ago according
to some regulars I talked to. My visit to the bar last evening was cut
short by the extreme cold in the bar area. In the few minutes I spent
there I did scout the Multi-Strike machines of which an entire wall
full were installed. These feature $.05, $.1, and $.25 denomination.
The paytables for denominations below $.25 are significantly reduced
and as such cannot be recommended. Of the few machines I sampled the
$.25 paytables were full pay. The progressive machines are the bar
tops that ring the circular bar. I didn't investigate the paytables of
these as I did not see any games that appealed to me. I might do a
more comprehensive survey some time in the future, but if someone
wishes to beat me to it please do. Until the temperature situation
gets under control visitors might wish to bring a light jacket and/or
wear a long sleeved shirt.
Majestic - "Don & Mike's" open
Was there this morning and I can confirm. Multistrike had full pay options (at least JB) at the quarter level. They were multidenominational at 5 cent, 10 cent and 25. Some of them are set into tables. Bartops were dollar machines with 9/6 JB, 9/7 DB, 8/5 BP, 9/6 DDB (no NSUD) and several other games that I am not familiar with, so could make no judgement on the pay table. The kicker is that all vp games share a progressive meter on the RF. Seats move and are comfortable. If the meter is set at a stingy pace this could be a lot of fun.
Spent the night at Harrah's. Played the 7/5 BP progressive to kill some time and hit the progressive at $1500. I took my money back up to the room after we saw the show they had running. There really isn't much reason to gamble there. They are not competitive. Much better vp and better (and lower limit) blackjack conditions at Trump/Majestic. Darned nice and convenient hotel, though.

Oh, and Harrah's flair bar and diner look near completion. 10 bartop cutouts in the bar. Don't have much hope that they'll be anything playable.

Maybe they got complaints and turned off the air because it wasn't cold at all this morning. In fact, it almost seemed too warm and stuffy in Don & Mike's. It was very cool on the second level in the VP area. I hope they will get better control of the temperature situation.
