Majestic "100 Multi-Play" machines

I'm sure some of you have been annoyed with how these machines are
being utilized by some of the Majestic patrons. Specifically, I'm
refering to occasions where many are occupied by folks playing 5 hands
at a penny each while there is a crowd of people waiting to play the
machines at full capacity. And of course these folks are already
nailed to their seats at 7:00am from which they can't be pried loose
during the whole day.

Yesterday I finally had enough and filed a written complaint with the
on duty slots manager. He was very personable and seemed genuinely
interested in this issue. I suspect that when I provided a detailed
description of these incidents he immediately realized that this is a
scenario where the casino is losing substantial coin-in, not only
because of the underutilization but also because of disgruntled
customers that may not come back. I'm fairly confident that my
complaint will be reviewed by someone connected with VP policy, but it
certainly would be helpful if others speak up as well. If you're a
serious player who has been rankled by these incidents please take a
few minutes to bring it to the slots manager's attention on your next
visit. The form only takes a few minutes to fill out and with enough
documented complaints there may be sufficient impetus to generate
policy which will eliminate this problem for good.

On a different topic, I just returned from a 6 day tour of the Vegas
VP circuit. My VP comrade (another Majestic regular) and I toured all
the prime Vegas VP locations as identified by the vpFree database.
Some interesting observations and results. I hope to have a trip
report posted on vpFree within the next few days.

I'd be curious to know how the math works out with these players.
They're maddening, no question. And certainly the casino is getting
less coin in. On the other hand, if they are not playing for full
coin, they're never going to get a jackpot. There are so many
machines around now that I assume they are working out OK for the
casinos.

Assuming the machine exhibits no bias based on wagering level they
would still hit "jackpots", they simply wouldn't be as big as with a 5
unit wager. Given that all the games offered are negative expectation
(BDLX comes closest at 99.64) rational management would want the
largest possible wager per deal to optimize their profit. I wouldn't
be too quick to give the casinos credit for having all these things
worked out to their benefit, there are plenty of examples in these
vpFree groups of oversights or outright bungling.
