Just finished a Vegas trip and I stayed at Main Street Station.
While it is true that playing any quarter slot and VP will get you
one point for every $1 coin-in, there is one exception. The slant-
top FPDW machines (3 ea) are actually considered 5 cent machines.
You can set the pay to quarters but the points will accumulate at
one point for every $2 coin-in. I tested the point accumulation
versus coin-in and verified the $2 coin-in requirement. Suggest
someone else verify this so that the database can be updated. I
have been keeping track of scratch card results and have noticed a
significant decline in scratch card value. Each new trip to Vegas
seems to be worse than the prior trip. Based on several trips, my
results show only 5% of the scratch cards are $5, 10% are $3 and 85%
are $1. Is anyone else showing the same results? It used to be
approximately 33% per denomination but I guess those days are gone
forever. I had several comp coupons that I received by mail for
Roberta's restaurant at the El Cortez. I had the salmon one day and
chicken on another day and I have to say that it was the worst slop
that I have ever tasted. The only good things I could say about the
meals is that the soup was good and so was the service.

My last visit was in July. Most of my scratchers were in the $2 and
$3 dollar range with maybe one or two for $5. I don't remember
getting even one for $1.

I believe you will only see the $1 cards on nickels. They have two sets
of cards. Nickels and another set for above.
