Has anyone been to MSS lately, I am reading that the FPDW are gone and
something else DW is there. Anyone have any info about the full pay
stuff downtown these days? Thanks

The FPDW were reported MIA in early DEC 2006.
Look at the Main Street DataBase page:

Main Street has a Casino Monitor who keeps
the vp info accurate and current.

Mss is still good. They have 2 banks of full pay 10/7 machines, in front and in the back. The deuces replacement machines are good too ( 99.9%) triple deuces. I actually did better on them versus the old fp deuces. Hit ducks for $750 last time there !

There's a good bit of "full pay" VP at MSS. But not very many >100%
games. As others have already said, MSS has a few 10/7 DB games.
AFAIK, those are the only >100% games there. But as for full pay,
they have 8/5 Bonus Poker, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, 9/6 JoB, and the
aforementioned TDW.
Next door at the Cal, they also have 10/7 DB as their only >100% game.
As for full pay, they have 9/5 SDB, 8/5 BP, 9/6 DDB, and 9/6 JoB, as
well as some NSUD.

TDW may be 99.9% but the variance is a whopping 96.5!! NSUD with a variance of 25.8 and only giving up .2% EV may be a better play for those with a smaller bankroll. I wonder what the RoR is on TDW.

Excellent point regarding the variance of TDW. The variance of 10/7
DB is 28.2. If you have played 10/7 DB you know all to well what a
rocky road you will experience. I shutter to think what waits in
store for those who play TDW. I have chosen not to play TDW in the
slim hope that if others do the same that the FPDW might return to
MSS. Since FPDW is my favorite game I will play it wherever I can
find it until it returns(if ever)to MSS.

I was watching a Travel Channel show on the Top 10 ways to win in Las Vegas. I was pleased to see that they interviewed Bob Dancer and Anthony Curtis for finding the games with the least house advantage (or best player advantage).
However, they ranked finding the best game way down at #9, just behind ... #8: Trust your Superstitions!!?!! They then proceeded to interview a psychic, a wiccan, and a fung shui person about picking the "right" machine. Good Lord!!! They were each given $100 and soon lost it all. The wiccan must be onto something because at least she picked video poker, but probably the paytable was horrendous.
#7 was using coupons with our own Jean Scott, so that was good to see too. #5 was to make sure you "feel" like a winner before you start playing, or else you'll lose for sure. I couldn't take any more of it after that and turned it off.
Make sure to pray to the wiccan goddess, otherwise your video poker session is doomed. And make sure to tell yourself over and over that you're a winner -that's far more important than finding the best game to play!

Last time I saw that segment, 1 or 2 was "Learn to
count" with A. Curtis at the Hard Rock.

Maybe the show was produced by the same guy who wrote the screenplay
to "The Cooler". In the movie the casino employs a guy with the
mysterious ability to bring bad luck to players having a hot streak.

Was there last weekend--there are NSUD machines and some LD games but
no full pay Deuces.
I did best on the weird, wonderful Treasure Chest machines--got some 4
of a kinds on one.
