Mailed Comps Info?

Does anyone have rough numbers for comps earned for various points
earned? I am especially interested in mailed offers, and any food
comps earned at the various CO casinos. What kind of offers do you
get (or have you gotten) for $1000, $2000, $4000, or $10000 in during
a month?

Thanks

I'm not a heavy player but I have gotten mailers from the Riviera and
Isle. My best guess on the Riviera is that it's based on a rolling
monthly coin-in average. I've been averaging about $2000 coin-in a
month there (usually over a couple trips--I'm a *small* player). I
get a mailer each month with 4 $10 coupons, the usual $3 off buffet
coupon, and usually a coupon for free entries in whatever drawing
they're doing that month. My guess is that if my monthly average were
to go up to $3000 or $4000 monthly my coupons would increase to $15 /
$20.

At the Isle, I played heavily (for me) one month to take advantage of
a 5x point promotion (~1.6% cashback, I hope they do that again!). I
did about $6000 coin in over two trips. A couple months later I
started getting mailers with 3 $10 coupons, and $59/$69 cabana room
offers for Sun-Thursday, with a $10 food coupon as well. When I did
my "big month" I also accumulated some food comps (not mailed) for
breakfast and lunch buffets, but lost them because I didn't know they
go away after 60 days.

The Lodge seems to send out mailers generously to new players--I
played there very little (< $1000 coin) but got a couple mailers with
a couple of $5 coupons and 2-for-1 buffets. But since I didn't
continue to give them play those dropped off almost immediately.

The Riv seems to be the easiest place to get food comps, and they
don't deduct from your points for cashback. Only rub is that the
points have to be earned in the same day. I usually try to get enough
for a lunch buffet (500) or dinner (900), as I'm not that fond of the
deli downstairs. Lunch can be hard because it closes at 1:30, at
least on the weekend.

Hope this helps,
Jon

Exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you! I, too, am a small fish,
but gradually getting bigger.

I have heard Riv BBC is based on a 3-visit average, and it is possible
that simply checking your balance or cashing in a coupon can count as
a visit, so that can really hurt you, if true.

It appears that my offers for July were based on my play in May, but
not real sure on that.

I will continue to update my experiences and hopefully others can do
the same.

Sorry to Jon for misspelling your name on the last post...it's
difficult to skip that 'h'

Anyway, doe anyone have any guess as to how long Riviera averages?

I had about $800 coin-in in May, 3K in June, almost 3k in July so far,
but my most recent mailing was 4 $5 coups. Maybe a 3 month average?

I had some good history going with the Lodge until the new general
manager (came over from the Gilpin in April of this year I
understand) ruined the video poker there (see recent postings about
carnage).

As regular was getting monthly mail with 1 or 2 $5 coupons, a 2 for
1 buffet (sometimes a free buffet as well) for what I thought was
less than $1k per month of coin-in. Then I started losing fast and
therefore not getting as much coin-in. Mail stopped so I asked about
it at casino. Was told that typically they cut off mail if points
total for 2 months is less than 1000 (equates to $2000 coin-in for 2
months). This seemed to fit. My guess is that I was putting $1000-
$1500 in per month to get the mailers, maybe $1500+ to get the
second tier rewards?

With everything else changing for the worse there, not sure if this
is still meaningful, but it may be somewhat indicative of how things
work in Blackhawk and Central City.

Was curious about the NSUD at Fortune Valley? Is this single play
quarters? how many machines? I stopped even looking in Central City
a long time ago, but maybe time to return? Anyone been to Century
since the disappointing pre-opening report came out a couple weeks
ago?

Thanks,

Marty

Yes, single line quarters, around 5 or so, on MG-MD games, near the
stage. I was trying to convince my wife to play VP instead of the
pennies. She hit 4 deuces THREE TIMES in under 45 minutes (less than
300 hands total). But she still likes her pennies??!!

I stopped by the Century Casino again on Sunday July 30. Their grand
opening had been rescheduled to the day before. Even still, they do
not have all of their machines operational. On the upper level there
was a bank of quarter 8/5 JoB that is clearly supposed to be a
progressive, but the progressive wasn't operational yet. Downstairs a
few machines have been made operational. Best paytable I saw was
15/9/4/4 Deuces on a quarter triple play. There are some operational
hundred plays but they were all busy so I couldn't check them. There
was I believe a bank of quarter 8/5 DDB progressives, again without
the progressive working yet.

I was playing blackjack at the Riv and a regular there said he had
visited the pit at Century and said they are having all kinds of
problems, floor personnel and dealers who seem to never have been in a
casino before. He said their pit was even shut down for a day because
the cleaning crew had moved the tables and messed up the camera
alignment!

I at any rate was disappointed in another wasted trip--despite their
"grand opening" not everything is up and running, and the video poker
I've seen so far does not inspire me to spend the time to check again.
Maybe I'll give them a few months to work out the kinks. Century
Casinos owns Womack's down in Cripple Creek and Womack's used to have
some playable VP (haven't been there for a year) so I had my hopes up
for Century.
