Magestic Star Casino

No admission charges to any of Indiana's Casinos. Indiana has a 3.4% income
tax that is taken out of $1200+ jackpots.
Majestic Star and Trump share the same dock.
Good VP available:
Majestic Star:
1c - 100 play with 9-6 bonus poker deluxe (the jacks game on this machine
is actually an inferior version of bonus poker deluxe)
5c - 9-6 jacks on 3 machines one of which also has 20-10-6-5 joker 2 pair.
(1 machine had 9-5 Triple Pay Plus but I think it is shut down.)
Also 5c 3/5 play (3 machines) ten play (3 machines) and 50 play (3
machines) with 9-6 jacks
25c - still 2 machines with NSU all 25c has 9-6 jacks
Also 25c Multi-Strike (4 machines) with NSU, 25-12 Double Bonus Deuces, 9-6
jacks and 9-7 TDB.
50c - NSU, 9-6 jacks. Also 1 Multi-Strike (same games as above)
one 50c triple play with NSU and 9-6 jacks
$1 9-6 jacks, NSU and a couple of games with 20-10-6-5 joker 2 pair. One of
these also has 9-5 Triple Pay plus
two triple play with NSU and 9-6 jacks. Also 1 Multi-Strike (same games as
above)
$5 9-6 jacks
If your a fan of Cash King Checkers they have the 98% version (Do not play
the 2 machines on either end as they are 97%)

Trump:
A few 9-6 jacks for quarters.
The multi-denoms have 9-6 jacks, NSU and Triple Pay Plus for dollars only
Three 25c and two $1 Triple Plays have 9-6 jacks and NSU

Comps (and bounceback) used to be especially strong but now very much worse
(especially at Trump)

Does anyone know anything about this casino? It's on a boat right?
Do you have to pay to board the boat? Are there certain times when
you can board? Is it in a nice area?

Gary, IN isn't the best place in the world. I've heard it called the
armpit of the Midwest. Perhaps I shouldn't listen to the slurs.
Please let me know. I'm interested in the great Video Poker
opportunities there.

I trust your reports as being more accurate and knowledgeable than mine, Howard, but I could swear I saw 3 and 5 play quarter 9/6 JB in MG uprights on the dock side of the VP area. I guess it's possible I was looking at the nickle machines you mention. I'll double check next week.

ATTENTION NEWBIES: Just thought I'd add that this is not an uncommon practice, so NEVER assume ... when you move over a seat (for whatever reason) or want to grab two seats next to one another (e.g., for a friend) ... that it has the same pay-table as the one next to it. I've noticed this particularly at the bars, probably because that might be where people more often want to sit together when they want to socialize while playing. The is important advice not only because the casinos like to sneak a low-pay machine in here and there, but also because bars often have a mix of denominations (e.g., dollar machines next to quarter machines), and if you've just glanced over someone's shoulder and noticed JoB 8/6 but didn't notice that it's a dollar, the empty seat next to it might be JoB 8/5 in quarters. I have yet to find an advantage machine right at the bar, but 99% of my experience has been in Tunica, Mississippi, so it might be different elsewhere. The machines at the bars are usually progressives, as far as I've ever noticed, so the value of the Royal could turn that JoB 8/6 into a positive game (it needs to reach about $1,705.50 for a 100% game, and about $1,516.50 to about equil JoB 9/6 ... but with altered strategy and a variance which is more than twice as high as the variance for 9/6). I am speaking about full-coin play, of course. I am starting a separate thread -- Interludes: Playing Short-Coin on Negative Machines -- that you might be interested in.

Cheers.
