Magestic Star Casino

Does anyone know anything about this casino? It's on a boat right?
Do you have to pay to board the boat? Are there certain times when
you can board? Is it in a nice area?

Gary, IN isn't the best place in the world. I've heard it called the
armpit of the Midwest. Perhaps I shouldn't listen to the slurs.
Please let me know. I'm interested in the great Video Poker
opportunities there.

Armpit of the Midwest is being kind! Last time I was in the area,
there were four boats to choose from. I did not have to pay to go on
board however that info may be dated since Illinois started taxing
so heavily.

It is on a boat. You do not have to pay to board. You may board at any time. And yes, Gary Indiana might fairly be described as the "armpit of the midwest" --unless you have a predilection for rusting hulks of steel plants or refineries;-) OTOH, you don't see much of this on the boat and it is some of the better VP in the area.

The reason I ask about the area is that my wife doesn't like driving
through bad areas. She won't go to the casinos in Detroit because of
the area around them.

Myself, I don't care but my wife gets upset. If it is a bad area, I
can always go with my mom who is retired. Go figure.

You get to the boats (Trump, Majestic and Harrah's) via Cline, which is a highway with entrance and exit ramps. Entrance to casinos is almost immediately at the ramps so you pass through no residential areas and only a little bit of industrial history before you reach their lakefront berths. No worries.
