Very perceptive! You've obviously figured out the truth!
When the machine locks up, for less than the $1200 required by federal law,
ominous things are afoot! Immediately, a sensor scan is initiated, which
reads all your personal papers, and your DNA. You are identified by the latter,
and your address is confirmed by the former. Then, the casino's "hit squad" is
notified, letting them know that you are "carrying." Also, the IRS is alerted
to the possibility that you might be a winning gambler without a paper trail
of W2-Gs!
You can expect a tap on your shoulder, or a knock on your door at any
moment. Remember, deny everything!

Hit a Royal on quarters at the Riverside in Laughlin, a freak occurence I'm
sure, though the wife got about a month ago, but the machines also locked up,
I'm thinking there's something more sinister going on.
