Machine malfunction

I would like to ask a question of the group.

I was playing a triple play machine at Ballys Atlantic city. The game was DDB I was dealt 2 aces and 3 rags. I held the 2 aces but as I hit the draw button I realized the 2nd ace was no longer held. The first three cards that came up on the draw were the other 2 aces and a three. Instead of having a $500 jackpot, I had trip aces.

I immediately hit the button to summon a slot attendant.

When he viewed the history, it verified the other ace had been there.

I asked him to call his supervisor.

The casino manager came over, viewed the evidence, had a techie test the buttons, and then said there was nothing he would do for me?

I asked him why I would hold a bare ace leaving the other unheld. He said he didn’t know what I would do.

I am a diamond level player and give Ballys most of my play.

I thought the manager had a very condescending attitude and was insulted by the way he handled the whole situation.

The bottom line is I feel that I should have been paid for the jackpot rather than being treated like an idiot, am I delusional?

Thank you for any help,

Craig

If I were management, I'd only pay on something like this if the
mistaken hold couldn't have improved the hand, including such extremes
as dropping one of a pair of aces, since a royal flush is possible. I
might restrict it to only pat hands that were broken up, assuming they
fit the first category. I don't know if the same cards would have
been drawn had a different draw been made. I've heard both sides and
lean toward believing that they wouldn't, in which case there would
have been no jackpot to pay.

Years ago, at the Taj in AC, I was dealt 4 Q’s on a 10x dollar machine. Held all 5 cards, but something went wrong and after the “draw” only had 3 Qs on each hand - there went a $2500 jackpot!

After everybody and his cousin checked out the machine, they confirmed the deal, but the response was “too bad - you’re SOL”. The machine didn’t show them all held, which seems insane to me.

As all of this was happening, my host just happened to come by for a visit. When she learned what had happened, she put a $1000 credit at the cage for me. I still felt gypped, but at least I got something for my trouble. And no pesky W2G.

Ive had many instances over the years of missing a button–or having a sticky button; @ Rio they are gold–pay right away no problem, including ones up to 5$ machines…one of the only good qualities at a Harrahs property…

At Pechanga recently, had a 2k slip…and had to go thru about 6 suits and 5 “nothing I can do’s” until finally (after threatening never to come back, etc., ) they paid me. Paid extra too, cause I had trips on the machine, worth $75 (15 x 5) and they gave me the full 2000. Even after I explained that I was only owed $1925. That one took about two hours. You just need to cajole, plead , beg , threaten until you find someone with just a little redness left in their Black Heart to get you paid…

Course I assume getting paid has almost exclusively to do with your level of play…
