Machine change at Fiesta Henderson

When I first started reading Lenny Frome's little booklet and
articles in 1989, he mentioned that people were worried that skilled
play would drive out all 100%-plus video poker. He scoffed at the
idea because there are so many unskilled players who continue to feed
the casinos' coffers, even on the games that potentially offer over
100% payback.

We're still hearing that today, yet some casinos continue to put in
these good games. When one casino or group guts their good games,
another puts more in to draw disgruntled customers over. True, there
are fewer good games available today than when I published my first
survey in 1992, but I have never had any trouble finding good games
somewhere in town.

As long as the total expectation on a situation is under $10 per
hour, the vultures don't bother with them, and the good games remain
available. The problems occur mostly when casino management goofs and
creates a promotion that offers a high hourly rate, then no one but
the "pros" can get on a machine, the casino loses money, and they
over-react.

How interesting that Stations is putting "Optimum Play" glass on all
the new good games. I wish I could feel that they were intentionally
promoting my book.
