M/S $600

Has anyone else heard about, or received, any of the M/S $600 weekly
cash back coupons. I heard they were giving these out in Dec. and
Jan. stopped for several months, and have started again. I've heard
of people getting weeekly coupons as high as $475 recently. These are
video poker players who are Not playing $5 machines or 100 play 0.25

This seems to be yet another example of the bizzarre coupon system.
All MS seems to be concerned about is the payback percentage. For
whatever reason someone has decided that variance in conjunction with
denomination should not have a significant role. So somebody playing a
high variance game that may need a 7-Royals bankroll (like OEJ or JW2)
at $1 denomination will find themselves totally screwed because these
games can have lengthy dryspells. So while you're dumping thousands
weathering these dryspells the soccer grandma playing JOB for nickels
is getting double your weekly BB award. Nice. I'm not sure what MS is
trying to accomplish with their mystical BB coupon system. It looks
like they're trying to incentivize low denomination, low payback
machines vs. high denomination machines featuring games with high
payback and correspondingly high variance. Be careful what you wish
for, MS. After you chase away the regular patrons that play the high
variance games who do you think will take their place? The $.05 JOB
playing soccer grandmas ? Right.

Don't give up hope...I do think we can crack the bb code...

remember it is a code, bounce back is determined by a computer
program not an arbitrary and capricious database manager...the
program may seem arbitrary and capricious but this is due to a poorly
defined program...I think it is safe to say they have not done any
sensitivity analysis on their bb program. It appears that relatively
changes in player activity can have profound effects on cash back i
have spoken to two people who have experienced the following weekly
bounce back experience over the last 3 months 1. weekly bb $20 up to
$225 down to $50 2. $125 up to $425 down to $150 both playing approx.
same amount (nothing that would obsiously support such radical
changes) I also know of other people who have had a much more
consistent bb experience over this same period of time, so it is not
like M/S is changing their policy month to month, with the one
exception being that in Sept they lifted the $125 cap. Clearly their
program is based on a mult-factor model, not simply amount of coin-
in. I belive average bet and actual time played are critical, with
both components being important this is based on the observation
that .01 VIDEO POKER SLOT players seem to be favored a game where you
can put relatively high average bet amounts $5.00 over a long period
of play, without losing your shirt, this game is very slow. A $1
single line player $5 per hand can put through $5000 in less than 2
hours it would take close to double that time to do that on the 100
play .01. My best guess to maximize bb is to Exceed the following
parameters: 1) 500 pts per visit 2) 5 hours play per visit 3) 5
visits per month 4) ave over $2.50 per bet

I would be curious to hear from anyone who matches this kind of play
and does not get $100+ per week in bb. I suspect a small downward
deviation on any one of these causes a sharp drop in bb.
