M Casino Royal Treatment Rule Changes

Last week on Friday the M casino offered "double royals,"
due to a mistake in the way promotional materials were
printed and emailed.

This Friday M will revert to the 1,000-coins-per-royal
formula they used in November and was described in my
http://www.casinogaming.com/columnists/dancer/2010/1103.html
article --- although when that article was written I wasn't
aware that 8/5 Ace$ Bonus Poker would be excluded.

For the current rules see:

http://www.themresort.com/rewards/Royal_Treatment.html

This is still a 0.5% promotion, in addition to 2x points
(0.6%) on most machines if you get a mailer --- but it is
not the "manna from heaven" giveaway they unintentionally
offered last week.

Even though they knew it was going to be expensive, the
casino deserves kudos for seeing the promotion through for
the day without kicking out any players or failing to do
what they promised. They knew they would have a week to fix
the problem before "next Friday", and they did.

I am not aware of any coin bonus for royals being offered in December. Is
this a "by invitation mailed offer only" or open to the general public?
Thanks for any info.

Regards,

Scot

Scot,

On 11/24 I received an email from M presenting the promotion with the subject heading "Double Your Royal up to $5,000 on Fridays". It was extended to all cardholders.

If a mistake, the "double your royal" text was repeated in the promotion text. Such promotions rarely last long.

It was amended to 1000 coins per line (cap $5000), as noted by Dancer, in an email yesterday.

Both mailers suggest select machines may be excluded from the promo.

----Thanks for the info. I never got an e-mail from them. No one from
their marketing/pr dept sent me anything about it and I saw no ads in the
paper about it. As of a week ago, they told me they had "no major
promotions" in December except for gift days and food specials. I was
trying to get more info. Their PR dept has since responded and informed me
of the promo (or should I say "corrected" promo.) I agree and understand
that "mistakes" usually don't last long. I have found my share of mistakes
over the years and unfortunately they have never seemed to work in my favor
like they are supposed to anyway!

Thanks again for the info/update.
