LVSun - Imperial Palace owner Engelstad dies
How true were those racial remarks? I stayed in the IP on a trip to Vegas in 94, and I met someone in a restaurant who told me Engelstad had Nazi leanings. She told me to go to Harrah's and ride to the top floor of one of the towers (I forget which) and look at the layout of the IP. I did it, and it looked like a swastika with one arm missing. It was creepy.
Anyone know more?

The Nazi leanings are NOT rumors. In both 1986 and 1988 he ran
elaborate birthday parties for Adolf Hitler. He was fined $1.5 million
by the Casino Commission and reprimanded. The parties became public
knowledge because employees who were required to dress in Nazi uniforms
complained to the commission. At the "parties" among other thins were
two huge pictures, one of Hitler and one of Englestadt(dressed as a
Nazi). Englestadt is captioned in the picture saying "Happy Birthday
Adolf. I have copies of the articles about this disgusting advent.
