LVSun - 'Guaranteed Play' machines

The number one complaint I hear from "ordinary" VP players is that you can't
change machines. Most average machine players like to move when they think a
machine is "cold."

So why not allow them to move? Have a separate "cash out" option, where the
machine gives you a ticket that can be inserted into another GP machine in the
same casino. Encoded on the ticket would be the current "state" of the
machine--the denomination being played, the game being played, the number of
hands remaining, and the credit amount. Insert the ticket into another GP
machine, and the new machines will pick up where the old one left off. Regular
machine players don't like to feel trapped at one machine, and this would allow
them to switch machines whenever they like.

The ad campaign could be, "Guaranteed Play, Without the Ball and Chain!"

Or maybe, "Guaranteed Play, No Roaming Charges!"

Or, "Free Range Guaranteed Play!"

I believe the main attraction of most gamblers is unpredictability and
uncertainty, for which they're gladly willing to pay expected value.
Machines that take that away from them aren't going to be popular.
