LVSun - El Cortez Snacks

El Cortez Sez:

El Cortez bosses stumbled upon the concept while surfing the Internet. The
Web site for a tribal casino near San Diego caught their eye with a blurb about
serving food on the casino floor. ("If Lady Luck is with you when hunger
strikes, why not invite her to dinner?")

<< Wow. I'm glad they only recently have achieved Internet skills as they
would have seen my satire a couple of years ago on being charged 15 cents extra
for sour dough toast. I bet even with all this forward [bowel] movement the
15 cent thing is still on the menu. I remember the surcharge in the early
70's>>

El Cortez folks made a pilgrimage to Barona casino, and what they saw
astonished them.

<< Wow from double wowland. Now if they could only make a pilgrimage [had to
look up and copy to make sure I spelled 'pilgrimage' correctly, I hope they
did] to the Riverside area to Loma Linda University, the nice Adventists
there would bend over backwards to show them how to prepare great tasting veggie
food. If any of you are ever near an Adventist hospital stop in and eat at the
cafeteria. The food will astound you it's so good. And don't say "Eeeeeeeew,
hospital food, eeeeeeeeew" I understand a few upscale places have a veggie
section but... I think a law, same as the anti smoking law, should be passed
for any casino serving a majority of senior citizens offering them at least
one third of the menu with Loma Linda inspired food.>>

El Cortez has hired about a half dozen servers, who will give customers
magnetized numbers to stick on their slot machine or set atop their table to keep
track of their orders.

<< Yes, but do they sing?
