well, let's compare and contrast...
Rampart: JW2, TB+, NSUD, nickel and dime 10-play SAB, a couple of
decent progressives at dollars and quarters, BDlx 5-play MS at
quarters. This part is likely the best of the three. Same day .25 cb,
$25 a week, but no more 2x points days 2x a week anymore-recently
averaging one day a month. Earn and redeem has lost it's luster-lots
of rules and the cards require 50% more play than 6 months ago. Some
minor stuff geared to low rollers.
Suncoast: lots of full pay at quarters, JW2 for dollars, NSUD to $5,
.3cb (coin out-smart move), with one or two 2x points days per month.
The typical Stations inventory at quarters is ok, but less comps,
bounceback only (at a rate of .5 to 1%, depending on play-the sweet
spot appears to be about $30K c/i a month, but others would know
better than I), and at dollars and up, simply isn't competitive
(although, as we know well, there aren't that many smart shoppers out
there...)Stations is really good at the Harrahs trick (no surprise
Harrahs wanted to buy them out-they think a lot alike in many
different ways-don't be surprised if it happens eventually)-make very
little or absolutely nothing sound like it's the greatest thing in
modern civilization, and use tons of exclamation points to back it up.
(I can see it now..."Ethel, this must be a really good deal-it has
three exclamation points next to it! They must mean business!!!").
