In ost other entertainment venues smoking is banned. The same should be true ASAP for casinos. They could start by making 50% of the casinos non smoking (even in NV 69% of adults are non smokers), something very easy to do, especially in casinos with multiple floors, different wings, buildings etc. Most workers take a job at a particular location because they have to, not because they want to. The sky didn't fall when other industries and states went non smoking. It won't in casinos either. Catering to a minority of amokers at the expense and discomfort of the majority of non smokers is wrong.
Even in local's casinos th enumber of non smoking rooms outnumbers th esmoking rooms. Sam's Town only has 2 smoking floors with 7 non smoking floors and one of the smoking floors has only about 1/2 the number of rooms as the other floors. Strip Casinos have huge numbers of non smoking floors. Obviously the person in a non smoking room wants non smoking inthe casino.
Als, many smokers want to quit. After a transition period from 50% non smoking, casinos would be like most other venues, prohibit smoking completely. They could build fancy smoking lounges outside for the smoker as needed with a ventilation system that would process the fumes so that the atmosphere wouldn't be hartmed and cover the cost of this by revenue fromt he use of this room from drinks, tobacco sales, etc.
