About 13 years ago, there was a bungy jump from a 15 story crane next to Circus Circus. There was a 4 foot wading pool at the bottom.
A buddy was having a bachelor party there and he did the jump (tied at ankles, head first, not the mellow tie to the waist). He then asked others to jump, but everyone was chicken. But I joined in. Paid $20 but when I got up there I wasn't looking forward to it but my $20 was non-refundable so I had to go thru with it right?
They weigh you and take air temperature into account to adjust the spring in the cord. They didn't want you to hit the water on your first try, but I wanted to so they made the adjustments.
I was tied up and on the edge and given the ok to jump and I fell forward and then someone on the crane platform yell "NO WAIT!!!!" but I was already falling. So I assumed maybe they had not tied my ankles correctly, but I would have to wait 5 seconds to find out. LOL
Just as I was about to hit, I could feel the cord getting tight, and my arm was able to pierce the water of the pool up to my elbow, and then I was sprung back up into the air. I bounced up and down for a little bit and then was lower back to terra firma and untied.
When I got home I noticed some red spots on my cheeks. This was from small blood vessel breakage from when I was sprung back into the air during the jump. I assume I also had some breakage in my brain as well.
Overall, I would not recommend doing this type of jump. TomSki
