yes, the dirty little secret is that all the casino hosts, particularly the ones that bring in the whales are all surpassing their targets this year. Management raised their targets, but the hosts have decided to work harder and hit them as they have bills to pay too. With management simultaneously tightening things up, the results are much larger contributions from the clients of these hard working hosts. That's who they want to not bonus, as they get a straight percentage of the losses of their clients., which are huge now. (shhhhhh, don't tell anybody how this greases the wheels and makes it all keep running, up to now, that is.)
vpFae wrote:> http://www.lvrj.com/business/31560784.htmlSo, let's see if I have this right. They are eliminating their cash bonus program that is based on performance criteria that they aren't meeting? Why couldn't they just leave the program alone? If the people that would bonus were missing their marks, they just wouldn't make bonus, right? This tells me that *some* employees would still bonus, and *that* is what MGM/Mirage is attempting to eliminate. Methinks they're in a bigger cash crunch than they are letting on...--Brett
