Well the reason why I asked for people's opinions about the
buyout is because on my October visit to Laughlin I developed a
new fondness for the Flamingo.Even though they don't have any single deck bj other than the 6/5
garbage, at least they have a two deck table where you can
double down on any first two cards. Plus I discovered a bank of
9/6 25¢ VP machines near the north wall of the casino I didn't
know was there.I like their music. I'm 59 years ago but I find that the steady diet
of oldie goldie 60's music I hear at most casinos depresses me.
But the Flamingo seems to have a good mix of music.I also like the way the casino is laid out.
I haven't eaten there though, and I'd like to hear from others what
they think of their food. I've seen commercials that they have a
burger bar at their lunch buffet and that they serve beer (and
wine?) at their dinner buffet.

Yes the music is a good change of pace...nothing like some 1970s and 80s
tunes. Heck a little U-2 gets me going.
Yes the joint is full of Jacks. Those 30 or so slant-tops by registration,
the aqua blue Game Kings by the southeast/riverwalk exit (Bonus Deluxe too),
the sportsbar bartops and my favorite half (south) of the Rainbow bar bartops.
This should all be in the database.
Pioneer and GNL deal better BJ, at least they did. Tim and Tom brought in
the best single deck in the world, but don't know if Landrys did away with it.
I recently did the buffet burning-up a soon-to-expire comp earned through my
Ceasars Visa card. It was pretty good for breakfast. Plenty of
room/variety/selection. I liked the unique self-serve juice machine...but the old fresh OJ
is gone. It seems like the coffee shop's lines are always long.
Some others on this group have done the dinner houses.
Self-comp kiosks have improved the Connection card. But the .07% cb and
mystery comps are a drawback. Drawing tickets are a pain to get.
But we should be finding out what the Strat and Arizona Charlies are up
to...and hope this property gets some happier staff. Hope the outdoor shows
continue too.
