Good article, but it doesn't mention that a lot of the Hard Rock's
patronage are older people who grew up on the rock music that is the
main theme of the hotel, and who still listen to the new stuff. Me and
my wife (early 50s), for instance. The excellent drink waitresses and
good food at Lucky's 24/7 are also plusses. I hear the rooms are
terrific as well. The VP payoff tables aren't that great, but my wife
and I win more there than we ever have at the Palms--go figure.
Coupon book news: the Hard Rock six-pack coupon sheet is currently
being handed out only to new cardholders, as of March 1 (the free play
coupons many of us get are the replacement bonuses for regular
cardholders).
Incidentally, my wife and I did well with the four of a kind scratch
cards from the daily coupons and from VP play. Two 25 dollar gift
certificates at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway gift shop (nice shirt), a
free radiator flush from a mobile auto service company, two Twilight
Specials at Lucky's, three meals at Port of Subs, lots of $5 and $10
free play cards, and a lot of fun! Plus, a nickel royal on the last
day (yeah, we're low rollers).
