All together now.. who's surprised? What a boondoggle and they keep putting
more money into it and raising the fares (great way to increase passenger
numbers).

A man stomps into a bar, obviously angry. He growls at the
bartender, "Gimme a beer", takes a slug, and shouts out, "All lawyers
are assholes!"
A guy at the other end of the bar retorts, "You take that back!"
The angry man snarls, "Why? Are you a lawyer?"
The guy replies, "No, I'm an asshole!"

The fares have actually been reduced recently. They cut the all day pass
price nearly in half to 8 dollars this summer. Thats $8 for 24 hours of
transportation between MGM Grand and Sahara. Even if you are traveling
in a group of 5 its still a money saver if you will take more than 1 cab
ride in the day. Plus its a hell of a lot safer than traveling in a Las
Vegas cab.

"Fitch cannot rule out the possibility of additional fare adjustments,
including reductions, to build ridership with the goal of establishing a
firm base level of demand with the potential for further growth," the
report said. "Fitch believes the monorail retains some ability to
increase ridership levels, if it is perceived that the monorail provides
a superior competitive means of transportation."

I think they at least have the right idea. I would have never used the
monorail If I hadn't been given a single ride pass once. Now I use it
all the time. Its a huge money saver if you travel up and down the strip
a lot in the same day. You just have to walk a bit more. I'd love to see
the proposed extensions completed.
