I was told by an Identity boothling that they will match levels from Strip casinos. Off-Strip requires a supervisor's approval. I don't know if the Palms, M, Hilton, et. al, are considered "off-Strip" for this promotion. Station and downtown casinos are.

I meant to post about this, but forgot.

I was at the Cosmo last week and signed up for the card. They explained the
$100 as follows: it seems, from my understanding, that coin out is deducted
*AGAINST* the $100. So if you put in $100, and lose it all, but along the
way you won $30.00 here and there, they would reimburse you $70. The lady at
the booth mentioned that "Many people are confused about that." And of
course I'm thinking "Of course they are, because it's misleading and no one
thinks that way."

So anyway, the "optimal strategy" is to play 1 hand at $100. I went to their
high limit room and did play one hand of 4 coin $25 deuces wild. Since I was
betting short, I would have been PISSED if I hit the royal. Thankfully I
didn't - I did get 3 of a kind though and cashed out. The most boring
possible outcome ...

People often say this with regard to short-coin royals but it seems like
the wrong way of thinking to me. I mean, I get it, it's a psychological
thing, but consider that once you choose to play short coin, the 4000-coin
royal is no longer a possible outcome, so why be pissed if you hit the
maximum payout available to you?

Let alone the thing about the RNG always cycling so you wouldn't
have gotten the royal if you'd bet max coin, blah blah blah.

Also why be pissed when your getting the equivlent of a free roll. Whatever the payoff is for a 4 coin 25 dollar royal? 8000 dollars? Yeahbid be struggling to find that many people upset with any winnings from a "free" slot pull even if it's just a double up. Free money is free money. You risked zero to make the bet.

On the other hand it's sad that this promo wasn't like the free 100 back from Arizona Charlies where you could play a game like wheel of fortune land on the spin and then pull your card out. Whatever you earned then on the spin wouldn't count toward your losses. So basically you do 50 pulls on the dollar wheel and whatever you get when you land on spin you kept plus got the 100 back. That was six years ago at least though

I thought players had to lose $100 to get the $100 in free play. Did you break even and still get the $100? I played the $10 Double Double. I assume that's better than playing a short coin $25 machine. I would have played until I was $800 or so ahead.

It was a poor attempt at humor. Considering this bet is 80 times what I
normally play, a $25,000 royal would have been just fine by me.

My understanding is

(a) You have to lose $100 AND
(b) Your coin out will be deducted from this

So if you are playing $10/handle pull, and you get 10 Jacks or Better in a
row and then lose your $100 in the next 10 hands, you will receive nothing
because you had $100 in coin-out.

That's not the way it worked for me. It took me a while to lose the $100. I might have played $800 and had $700 in coin out and I got the $100 in free play.

I may have misunderstood then. She did say that "many players are confused
by this" (in context to how it worked), so I'm not sure what she was
referring to now since it seems that it's straightforward.

Hopefully Rob can clarify when he gets back from his visit.

Please note that these are not scams or rip offs. The two Casinos below give
you actual promo cash you can use in almost every slot machine at their Casino.
Its not like others that make you play on games that are set to never hit.
(Hooters ran a promo that only allow you to play on 6-12 games that do not pay
cash.)

I just completed this promotion last week. Basically, take a $100 bill out and
play until its gone or you hit something large enough to walk away from the
promotion. They told me at the club that it was your "net" loss that matters,
not your theoretical loss. Once you lose your actual $100 they will provide you
$100 in promo. That simple!

Tropicana is running a similar promotion, but theirs is lose $200 and get $200.
Same thing here, you must actually lose $200 in one trip. Once you do you get
$100 in promo immediately, but the catch is your other $100 in promo does not
activate until 1 month later. It is good for one year though, so I will have
that $100 waiting for me on my next trip to Vegas.

That's not the way it worked for me. It took me a while to lose the $100. I
might have played $800 and had $700 in coin out and I got the $100 in free play.

My understanding is

(a) You have to lose $100 AND

(b) Your coin out will be deducted from this

So if you are playing $10/handle pull, and you get 10 Jacks or Better in a

row and then lose your $100 in the next 10 hands, you will receive nothing

because you had $100 in coin-out.

that's not the way it's worked for the two people i know who've played
the promo. they've put $100 into a machine playing $25/hand JoB,
eventually lost it despite several paying hands along the way, and got
$100 freeplay.

This is a lot of anecdotal evidence, so at this point I will just say I am
wrong. However, I am still perplexed about a number of things, including
what she, the boothling, thought was confusing about this... I guess I'm the
only one confused...

i played the promo today, and i also received a confusing description
of it from the boothling, similar to what you described. she made it
sound like you had to do some kind of complicated tracking of results
- i believe she used the word "math" - rather than simply having a net
loss of $100 on the day.

my best guess is that they had problems with people putting in $100,
cashing out $150, moving to another machine, putting in $100 and
losing it, and thinking they were entitled to a $100 rebate. and they
are doing a poor job of "clarifying" that this isn't how it works.

i simplified matters by playing two $50 hands and losing them both,
thus qualifying me for the full rebate under any possible
interpretation.

cheers,
