An interesting article, to say the least.
If what is reported here is really so, one might think that there will eventually be a more
reasonable treatment of gambling winnings/losses by states and the federal government.
None of us (I think) is asking for a "no-tax" stuation. But, as a minimum, I would like to be
able to deal with my gambling "winnings" with a simple "in - out" accounting method. The
present usage of "sessions" and claiming "winnings" on one page and "losses" on another
page (as far as the federal taxes goes) is abominable.
Unfortunately, I see no such movement afoot, in terms of tax reporrting relief. Note that I
am not speaking a tax relief. I am just asking for a better way of treating winnings and
losses.
(Just my opinion, of course).
