LVRJ - 20,060 PER DAY: Monorail ridership plunges(XVP)

I always thought that, since the riders are obviously not driving, they
should have figured out a way to serve cheap alcohol onboard. Don't know if it
would be legal, but frozen daiquiris (like they serve at Angel Stadium) might
get people to ride, especially in the summer heat! And cold beer, of course!

I know that after a long walk to a train, availability of a cold drink might
entice me to ride again. And that applies even if it's a cold Diet Pepsi!
Maybe a buck for a soda, two for a beer? Nice profit potential there.

Just a thought. Anyone know if this would violate any law, if a live person
dispensed the beverages and could card the riders? I know that some high end
tour buses serve beverages, both alcoholic and not, to the passengers.

Dang you'd think by now they would have figured out they should do like the
rest of Vegas has done: go way upscale and make this an exclusive club and
charge maybe $10 or $15. Hehe

This is the first time we rented a car in Vegas because we looked at the price of the Monorail (which we have used extensively in the past) and cab cost. When they raise the prices, car rental (with all the free parking) was cheaper. Also, the walk to the monorail stations was more than to the self-park garages.

We also visited outlining casinos and did real well at South Coast. The car from Budget was $185/wk for a full size car

Chet

For 5 days or more, rent a ride is the only to go. I rent at airport.
Hop the Dollar bus and I'm ready to travel in 1/2 hour.
If I'm doing bad at home base, I just drive around and pick places at
random to play. Also I have relatives and friends in and around
Vegas. So a car is a must; have to visit.

Once you travel to a few of the regular places you want to play at,
you will know what floors to park on. Or get to know where you can
drive up and find a front door spot to park. Sometime you have to
wait for someone to leave and you follow them to their car. Most
times you can get to your car as fast as you can hand your ticket to
valet. The icing on cake, your on your way 15 minutes faster than
valet.
