LVHilton $5 JoB

LOL Scot. Hindsight is 20/20, eh? I play a fair amount of $2 JoB, and if the LVH had in full pay, I probably would have gone with that. But, I'm not going to beat myself up for it. It was a essentially at $625 coupon at the $5 level. The odds of going quadless for 4 straight hours was (any math mavens got this one?) almost nil. I think that's my longest quadless streak of the year, and it happened at the worst possible time. Oh, well. I'm the same lucky SOB who hit the 10x STP royal and a 5x STP royal last year, and who spelled ACES for $8K almost the first time I ever played the game, hit dollar royals twice within 20 minutes (twice), and hit a royal on his first trip to Vegas. I've been ahead from the get-go and never had a losing year. I'm still up $8K for this year. So, no tears for John. I just wish the roller-coaster would level out a little!

It's not, unless you got the Local's mailing, Two of them were tucked away in their monthly tacky free crap (Elvis plates!) mailing. A mistake on their part not to put a denomination limit on it,

Well, I think those who play a lot of video poker, I mean a lot of
video poker, over forty hours per week, can tell you just how bad the
quad droughts can get. Anyway, this particular coupon is a good
application for the Kelly bet. Kelly bet is bankroll times advantage
divided by variance. For example, if you were playing FPDW with a
$5,000 bankroll, kelly bet would be $5,000 x .0076 / 26 = $1.46/hand.
If you want to be conservative you can bet half Kelly.

I got back from LV last night. I was in a quad drought, none whatsoever for four or five hours. On the way to the airport I dropped into Terrible's for an hour. I had stiffed them for medical reasons 7/22 and 7/23 so I played $5 VP just to show coin-in. The only game was Triple Double Bonus or somesuch which I do not know, played it anyhow. Kept a pair of fours, hit the quad for a $3K W2-G, told them I was in a hurry, played the only other machine which was adjacent, hit quad fives for ONLY $1250, was in a wheelchair at McCarran less than an hour later!!
