Ahh, a nice walk down memory lane courtesy of my friend Hockey. Pull up to
one of the dollar pick 'em games at the sportsbook bar in the LVH, order up
one of the ice cold beers they always have and begin my day. Several hours
later and more beers than I could count I would stumble away for some much
needed sustinence. Might have made a mistake or two, but it was a slow game -
That was an experience I really miss!

On the topic of counting - to keep track of consumption I would get 20 one
dollar bills first thing in the morning, tip a buck a beer - big spender, huh?
- and when the pocket was empty it was usually time to move on. Unless of
course it was not quite noon - then maybe have a couple more....(-;

My one dollar pick 'em royal came toward the end of one such session. Wanna
meet a few hookers? Hit a $6000 royal in that place! Like flys to ....

This was only 3 years ago - but a lifetime in the VP world!

Cheers!

Jigger,

I lament never experiencing LVH in the heyday of Bally Gamemakers/great
bennies and mail. LVH offered great comped concert packages, according to the
tales I have heard.

I still remember my first PE experience about 2001 when the downtown Boyds
all had separate cards. I put on 111 points (@ $10/pt) on a new card at the
Fremont. This started the mail for comped rooms.

You couldn't play PE in Laughlin, but I tried to learn All-American when it
showed-up on new upright Bally Gamemakers at the River Palms.

If you need at sit at a Bally Gamemaker bartop and drink beer I suggest Sassy
Sue's Saloon in the Pioneer Hotel & Gambling Hall. I so enjoy the sound,
texture and feel of the older platforms (still some 1994 vintage Sigma DDJ next
door too). They have twelve tappers of premium brew served in pints too. I
find five singles of change for tips is all I need for a proper VP session. You
can't play PE or AA, but can play 9/6 Jacks or Triple Deuces in quarters to
dollars.
