I play max because of comps. If you lose .5 cents per hand playing max coin or playing 1 coin, the possibility of hitting a royal doesn't matter, because after one complete cycle, you have lost a half cent per hand either way. The only way that there would be a difference, is that max coin would be better if you hit more than your share of royals, and one coin would be superior if you got fewer than your share of royals.
