LVA Question of the Day - 5 JUL 2007

Q: I've been watching Texas hold 'em tourneys on TV. Do they
always burn a card on the flop, turn, and river cards and if
so, why?

I was out of town on 7/5 and thus didn't see the answer (not an LVA member). Does anybody know why a card is burned after the first 3 and 4th turn cards?
