If things are like they usually are (and you can't always depend on this), there will be no 9/6 JoB to play at the Venetian/Palazzo during the upcoming Sweepstakes April 9-12. They may change the paytables the evening of the 8th or earlier in the day.

Just a warning, but I can't be sure of this information.

Fascinating as statistical discussions are, can anyone answer a question on the original topic?

For what events has the Venetian been turning off their 9/6JOB? Events with large prize pools? With sweepstakes? Any slot/VP/whatever tournament? For most of the past year they've been running a slot tournament just about every week, but most of them have pretty small prize pools and no sweepstakes.

I've stayed on the strip twice so far this year, and both times Venetian and Palazzo have had plenty of 9/6 JOB in $2 denomination and up. AFAIK there were no events going on last week. I think there might have been a small slot tourney on our previous trip.

Oh, one other related note. I had a comped room at Palazzo -- which I was slightly surprised to get for 3 nights including the Friday of final 4 weekend, and gave them what I thought was a reasonable amount of play even though those machines have been pretty unkind to me this year. When I made my obligatory call down to casino marketing to see if they could comp some room charges they told me I didn't qualify for any further discretionary comps. Not sure if the problem was my volume of play or the fact that all of it was on 9/6 JOB machines.

Mainly their large sweepstakes.

Kinda funny because when they first removed the 9/6 JoB last year, they would only put them back in service for sweepstakes events. Now they have done a 180 and the paytables are available all the time EXCEPT for sweepstakes events.
