<<I think that the cleaning person that wipes down your machine, or
cleans the areas between the machines deserves a tip more than the
people who deliver the money. Last time I went, I gave a tip to one
of these cleaning person. She was so surprised because nobody ever
thinks of her. Why don't Bob Dancer and Jean Frugal mention the
cleaning lady? The answer is because there is nothing in it for
them. Why tip a dealer? The answer is tat if you do, sometimes they
will make a "mistake" in your favor if you do. In other words, you
are bribing them in advance to cheat for you.>>
From "More Frugal Gambling," where there is a whole chapter on
tipping.
"We like this spread-it-around idea even for major jackpot
tipping. In some casinos where we play often, we know what system
the employees have concerning tips they receive. Some keep all their
own tips, but in many places there are sharing arrangements.
However, we usually ignore this factor when we hit a big jackpot and
just try to share our happiness with as many employees as we can. I
don't really care that the casino rotates the change people to do
handpays; I do not like to give one big tip to a change person I have
never seen before he/she arrives to count out my stack of hundred
dollar bills. So if I plan to tip $40-$50 for this big jackpot, I
will give the hand payer only $20 and then see how far I can spread
joy by offering $5 to everyone who shows up - floor people,
supervisors, security, whoever. Some may not be allowed by casino
policy to accept tips, but they are happy I offered. Whatever tip
money is left over, I distribute to other employees who have made my
day pleasant - the hard-working porter that keeps our machine area
clean, the bathroom attendant who always has a cheerful greeting for
me, the cocktail waitress who will bring me hot tea AND a bottle of
water at the same time, the friendly change girl who has been rooting
for a jackpot on my machine all day.
"This spread-it-around system, especially in a casino
where you play frequently, can give you a very generous reputation at
the same time you are staying well within your tipping budget."

If I get a W2G, I'll only tip the person who shows up first to greet
me and take my ID. I have very rarely ever tipped the person who
actually pays me. You would be surprised the amount of hangers-on
who migrate for these situations.
