LVA Question of the Day - 20 APR 2009

Q: My co-workers and I have been expressing a bit of confusion
over the offered and rejected brothel tax. Perhaps you could shed
some light for those of us who don´t have a firm grasp on the
topic. If the brothels want to pay taxes, why does the government
refuse?

I don't see the big deal behind this. Public perception is *already* that
the brothels are legal in Nevada. The gubment taking their money would do
nothing, IMO, to harm NV's image. If they were to tax them, I think few
people would repel in horror and say, "what? its legal in Nevada?!?!"
