Q: I've noticed that most of the casinos are doing away with
coin slots and going with paper tickets. Where can we find the
casinos that still allow you to drop in nickels or quarters and
receive coins instead of the tickets? I miss the noise of the
casino that the slots used to give, as well as collecting the
various dollar coins.<A HREF="http://tinyurl.com/jsbv2">

The LVA did not point out the non-credit type machines that still are left on
a casino floor. These drop coin with every payout.
One joint, the Cal has the old IGT Fortune I VP machines from at least twenty
years ago. Upstairs by the top of the escalator is a bank of these old
skinny uprights in quarters with the 9/6 Jacks or Better schedule. Maybe twenty of
them.
Downstairs by Keno and Registration are several of these in dollars clanging
away with every play. These machines might also have the pay schedule start
with the two pair payoff, with a seperate sign stating you get your money back
with high pairs (JJ+). The original VP really sucked at a mid-80's % payoff
and were upgraded.
Cal is fun to walk through just for this feature. The charters from Hawaii
fill up these games and it is hard to find a seat during prime time.
