LVA Question of the Day - 11 SEP 2009

Q: Casino managers use psychologists to subliminally direct
visitors to gamble. For example, casino-floor carpeting is
purposefully ugly and visually dissonant, which makes one want to
look up at slot machines and table games. What other
psychologically-based tricks do casinos use to persuade
unsuspecting gamblers to part with their hard-earned money, other
than the well-known practices of no clocks or windows)?

OMG, I hope they have changed the carpet by now, but (I think it was) the second floor of the Flamingo had carpet that could cause a migraine back in 1990.

It's funny, it was so bad, that I still remember -- if not exact details. (not sure what really what floor, might have been in back of casino area on 1st too)

LOL I assure you it's a long ways from the Palazzo parking garage to the Venetian Poker room, over a 20 minutes.. and if you get up in the stores maze there is no hope whatsoever. Once I was even sober, that was worse.
